[01 Oct 2005|02:34pm] Well Frankie finished his steroids last night so we'll see if his cough improves. Fall's almost as bad as spring when it comes to allergy-induced asthma.The poor kid actually coughed up blood but the pediatrician seemed unalarmed. I was alarmed though, and he thought he was croaking so it wasn't much fun here. This morning he stubbed his toe and might have broken it so now he thinks the house is out to get him. Some of his teen pals are coming over to see him now so me and the little ones are going to leave for a while. I'm thinking of taking them pumpkin picking and having them paint their pumpkins afterwards. Ahhh, once a pre-school teacher always a pre-school teacher. 2 comments|post comment

Anthony has a playdate! [30 Sep 2005|04:43pm] Okay so I'm a neurotic mother, but last week the most popular kid in the 2nd grade ditched my son after we had already scheduled a playdate. You have to understand Tony spent all last week planning this playdate, practically crossing days off the calendar to get to the big day. Well, the big day came and went and the little turd went off into the sunset with another kid,leaving my poor son confused and crushed. Soooo, I sent a letter to another mom requesting a playdate with her son and lo and behold this boy actually showed, they're playing video games as we speak. This is big, and when my kids are happy,I'm happy. My 15 yr old Frankie, has been home the past few days from school becasue his asthma's acting up. He literally coughed up blood last night. So of course we went back to the pediatrician who assured me all was cool but I came home and ordered 2 clean air purifiers from The Sharper Image catalog anyway.They cost a lot,it'd probably be cheaper just to cough up a lung and give it to them, but my kids are bad asthmatics. So, hopefully, cleaner air in the bedrooms will help.I am the asthma police in our family, forever on the lookout for a wheeze or a cough. 2 comments|post comment
